Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is a government-aided institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science, located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It was established by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in 2007.
The primary objective of IIST is to provide education and research facilities in the field of space science and technology to meet the needs of the Indian Space Programme. The Institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in various disciplines of space science and technology.
The curriculum and research programmes are designed in collaboration with ISRO centres and other national and international organizations to provide a comprehensive education and practical training to students.
IIST has world-class facilities, including research labs, lecture halls, libraries, computer centres, and observatories, which provide a stimulating learning environment to students. The Institute also conducts various research projects in collaboration with other organizations to contribute to the advancement of space science and technology.
